Designated Agencies Only
Unlike other countries, individuals in China CANNOT submit visa applications directly to the Japanese Embassy/Consulate. You must go through an authorized travel agency approved by the consulate in your jurisdiction (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, etc.).
The "Gold" Multi-Entry Visa
High-income individuals (earning >500k CNY/year) can apply for a 5-year multiple-entry visa. This is highly coveted as it allows you to visit for tourism anytime.
Electronic Application Form
You must fill out the application form PDF on a computer to generate a QR code. Handwritten forms are often rejected by agencies now.
