On May 6, 2021, the world lost a legend. Kentaro Miura, the creator of Berserk, passed away. He left behind one of the greatest dark fantasy stories ever told, but it was unfinished.

The Continuation

However, the struggle continues. It was announced that Studio Gaga (Miura's assistants) would continue the manga under the supervision of Kouji Mori, Miura's lifelong best friend.

Why Kouji Mori?

Mori is the only person who knows the ending. Miura told him the entire plot of Berserk towards the end of his life. Mori has stated that he will only write what he remembers Miura telling him—no fleshing out, no adding extra fluff. Just the core story Miura intended.

Current Arc: Fantasia / Eastern Exile

The manga is currently releasing chapters periodically in Young Animal magazine. Guts and his party are facing their darkest hour yet after the events on Elfhelm.

Will It Finish?

Yes. The team is dedicated to reaching the ending Miura envisioned. While the art style has shifted slightly (it is impossible to perfectly replicate Miura's god-tier detail), the soul of the series remains.
